I have printed the 40-55 adaptor for my 200g spool. the spool adaptor fits my small spool but doesnt fit the AMS. after inserting the spool adaptor, the whole spool is wider than the slot in AMS which I have to occupy some of the spaces in slot 2 to use it. am i doing something wrongly with this adaptor?

Hi, it's mounted badly this way. What is the internal diameter measurement of your spool?

Replying to @abactor81 :
the diameter is 55mm… the adaptor actually cannot go through the spool..

You must first screw pieces 1 and 2 to the end, then tighten the spool with ring no. 3. if the diameter is 55mm and it doesn't fit all the way into the spool to close it all the way, use the 40 to 50 adapter. Let me know if you can solve the problem. Thank you.

Excellent and useful design. I have many small spools of filament i can now use without a problem in my AMS. Pro tip, print out 2 sets of rings. This allows you to center the spool in the adaptor. Thank you!

This was so helpful I made an extra spacer to be able to get the filament to be directly in the center. Worked so well!! Thank you very much.

great print, and now I can more easily use all these no-name filament spools I've accumulated! the spools actually stay put on the adapter without rigging something up with zip ties as I've had to do before 😅

Love mine. I had someone argue that 195mm would scrape in the AMS but i never saw it... just in case i may rework to 200mm. I also will add a few filament clips to the male threaded side which I determined due to thread direction, would be the correct side to be the right side in the AMS. I also made a 55mm half thickness ring as I needed a solution for 600g Flashforge PLA spools which are a very awkward size. Too fat for the normal thickness ring and too small a diameter to run on their own... I've since printed some adaptor rings for that spool anyway, but worth a mention.... Great adaptor though and I am printing a couple more as I have lots of 200 and 250 spools and this simple works brilliantly.... Thank you... I boosted after my first use over a month ago and now boosted again.... I love this so much

Best adapter spool yet, I won't print any other anymore! Thanks for sharing the model It is also heavy enough not to jump in the AMS 👍

The print worked very well. All threads run perfectly. I printed a second 55mm ring to fix my small leftover spools in the middle of the large spool; the filament is then processed straight in the AMS. Thank you very much.
