Description

Summary

My own take on a 3D printed mini cannon. Designed for Black Cat firecrackers. One unexpected problem: a little bit of firecracker is left in the cannon. You will need a 6mm tool (a long 6mm Allen wrench works well) to clear the cannon after firing.

If you print this and put smokeless powder, black powder, firecrackers, or anything else explosive in it I'm not responsible for the results. I have no control over you and how you print this. Please have a responsible adult help you if you decide to use this. This applies to kids and irresponsible adults equally.

Don't be stupid. If you decide to try to fire this thing, do it safely. The fundamental rules of firearm safety absolutely apply!

Don't stand beside it, even if you've fired it successfully before! Please know the laws in your state/country. This may be considered a firearm, and be illegal, in your state/country. It happens that it is not considered a firearm where I live.

Strength Issue:exploded on second use

This isn't a strength issue. I have printed them at 100% infill, and they still fail. If you expect a 3D printed canon to withstand multiple shots, please recalibrate your expectations.

Replying to @inabn :
I made mine out of pretty cheap PLA and it has held up for at least 20 firecrackers. I’m working on making my own black powder for it.

could be your filament I’d try pla plus by III3D that’s what I’m using for a 150% scale and I will run 12.5 grains of black powder

Cannon looks great printed well on P1S. I think the stock 25% infill that sliced makes the cannon's front end a little heavy and want to lean forward.

I used some of that red tube plastic cement type hobby glue to fix the barrel to the stand at my desired angle

Amazing. Did not blow up. Actually, it caught fire after about a hundred shots.

Other Issues:it wouldn’t print correctly. I’m sorry it wouldn’t allow me to leave a better review. it was probably just a data transfer problem.
