Description
Find Your Perfect FlexiRail Slim Clip Fit
This is where you find the clip size you need for your FlexiRail Slim accessories.
On my X1 Carbon, the .30.10C clip size works best with the filaments I've used. My Prusa needed a .40.10C for a Secure Fit with the same filament.
For an Easy-Slide fit on the X1 Carbon, I use .40.40C.
On my A1 Mini with FormFutura PLA, the rail shrunk slightly compared to my X1C with Bambu filament. I got a good snap force with a .50 overlap after printing the “Overlap snap-on force” plate. The .50.10C made a good slide fit. Then I printed the .50 overlap plate to test which tolerance modifier to use and settled on .50.00C for a secure fit.

Secure Fit (Most Uses):
- Securely snaps on, but still removable.
- Does NOT slide along the rail once attached.
Easy-Slide Fit (Curtains, etc.):
- Snaps on securely or slides onto the rail before mounting.
- Moves along the rail smoothly without coming loose.
Understanding Clip Sizes:
- First number (e.g., .30 in .30.10C): Overlap with the rail. Higher number = tighter grip.
- Second number (e.g., .10 in .30.10C): Clearance against the rail. Lower number = tighter fit.
When you've found the perfect fit, you should use this clip size for all your FlexiRail accessories.
Finding Your Fit:
- Start with the first plate. If unsure, print all sizes.
- Test against your FlexiRail. Choose the clip that snaps on with the right amount of resistance.
- Note the first number on that clip.
- Print clips with that first number, varying the second number. There are plates for each number group.
- Choose the highest second number that provides your desired fit (secure or easy-slide).
Example: Your perfect fit might be .40.05C
Note for Easy-Slide fit: Due to the print orientation of the clips (which makes them very strong) - the layer lines will cause extra friction. For this reason, I recommend you to snap on each of the clips to the rail and rub them against the rail with some pressure towards the rail front surface to “wear them in”. This will make the clips slide very well!
