Standard garden hose to ¾ pipe thread adapter, as it is used in e.g. sprinkler systems, pumps or water switches. This version has another design than my first one, this one is more rounded while my fist model has sharper edges and a knurled design. Seal and O-Ring can also be found in my other models. Print in high quality for a good thread, will still need a bit of force on the first screw action. Happy watering :)
Be advised, you need to adapt the print settings to YOUR particular application. If your print does not need to bear a lot of stress or load, a finer print and a weaker filament type like PLA might be applicable. If you need some strength in the part, you will need to increase the wall thickness, infill % and probably use ASA, ABS or PETG. If you want a pretty result, adjust the type of support (if needed) and its location. Standard supports will result in different traces than tree supports as well as they might differ in how they can be removed.
If your print leaks there might be several reasons: (1) Filament dryness and printing environment. Wet filament and temperature changes lead to shrinkages or enlargements in the final print up so several mm. This is a significant delta which causes the O-Ring not to fit tightly. Solution: dry filament and control printing environment. (2) O-Rings do not fit to printed model. This effect comes from very slight variations in O-Ring manufacturing tolerances and print-tolerances. Original Gardena O-Rings might be 0.5mm smaller than what the model would require to seal the space between adapter, O-Ring and quick-release on the hose itself. Solution: scale up the O-Ring from my models or use the slightly bigger version (coming up). My first advise would be to use a 5% scaled up O-ring printed from TPU.
For all of my models that include supports, I highly recommend a detailing / support removal tool like the one from anish or C59. Those make use of a replacement filament cutter and have proven themselves a very valuable tool for clean and easy support removal, especially for threads.
Also, please keep in mind, that the quality of threads is highly dependent on the quality and dryness of your filament, the calibration of your printer and the print resolution. A thread printed with .2mm layer height will be way harder to thread nicely and will require more force, than a thread printed at .08mm or .12mm layer height. Also, the Arachne wall generator does contribute a lot to precise threads. If you need more part strength, increase the number of walls, make use of the alternate extra wall feature and DO NOT use PLA.
