Description

When working with small models sometimes my fingers just are too big. So I made a fully printable hand vise.

To clamp something you simply turn the handle.

 

Print everything with a layer height of 0.2mm or lower. Support is not needed. The thread is close to M12 and should work directly after printing. You can lubricate the thread with candle wax so it runs smoother.
For the hinges I designed hinge rivets. Install the claws to the claw-bridge then insert the rivets. Heat up a flat piece of metal (e.g. a flat screwdriver) and press it on the small end of the rivet. The rivet will melt in place.

The handle failed mid-print twice, but the last time it was almost complete. I was able to just reprint the rounded tip of it and sand it and glue it on. It also has some lumpy quality issues. I'm assuming both of these issues stem from printing in on a bed slinger (A1 Mini) where tall, thin prints can be problematic with them being jerked around. Other than that, works great!

Nice little hand Vise. I hope the jaw would open more than 10mm For small detail projects is perfect

Great design. Works and prints great. Seems to be pretty strong with ABS. Had some ideas for further development. perhaps some hooks for rubber bands so that the teeth don’t have to be manually separated other grip sizes would be cool as well. all in all, great print

i was wondering if there are any jaws with a more "forward" angle? even when empty, there's a gap at the front for me. it only gets bigger the bigger the object is.
