Give your PULSE 3D headset a second life
The Sony PULSE 3D Wireless Headset quickly became one of the most popular gaming headsets after the launch of the PlayStation 5 in 2020. Designed specifically to complement the PS5 and its Tempest 3D AudioTech, it offered excellent sound quality at an affordable price and became a favorite among millions of gamers worldwide.
However, after years of daily use, many owners encountered the same problem—the synthetic leather on the ear cushions began to crack and peel. While replacement ear pads are easy to find, the exposed foam becomes vulnerable to dust, accidental damage, and everyday wear.
Why I designed these covers
I wanted a simple, durable, and affordable solution to protect replacement ear pads without changing the comfort or appearance of the headset.
These 3D printed protective covers:
- UV exposure from sunlight.
- Protect replacement ear cushions from scratches and wear.
- Help reduce dust and dirt reaching the foam.
- Extend the lifespan of replacement ear pads.
- Are easy to install and remove.
- Maintain the clean look of the original headset.
Rather than replacing ear pads again after a year or two, these covers act as a protective shield for everyday storage.

Printing Recommendations
- Layer height: 0.20 mm
- Infill: 15–20%
- Material: PLA, PETG, or ABS (CF like materials not recommended, can damage
- Supports: Not required
- Size: default 107% (loose as I prefer not to squish earpads) don't go under 105%
