THE MODEL :

Introduce the dramatic architectural grandeur of historic European estates to your home with this magnificent Gothic and Baroque-infused floating wall niche. This unique three-dimensional design features a central recessed arched opening, beautifully flanked by twin twisted columns topped with sharp neo-Gothic spires. Crowned by an opulent high-relief pediment of dense sweeping scrolls and acanthus foliage, this miniature altar structure includes a finely molded decorative bottom shelf. It is the ultimate statement piece to anchor a moody Dark Academia library, dress up an accent pillar, or exhibit your favorite curiosities—such as raw crystals, antique perfume bottles, miniature statues, or mystical relics.

Tested Print Settings (Recommendations): The clean lines of the twisted pillars, the sharp definition of the spires, and the intricate lace-like carvings of the crown were successfully verified using matte black PLA, as featured in the file Gemini_Generated_Image_enhr0venhr0venhr.png.

  • Infill: Successfully printed between 8% to 10% for a lightweight decorative wall mount setup. Slicing Pro-Tip: The broad, flat backing surface naturally distributes weight efficiently. However, if you plan to use the small horizontal ledge to hold heavy artifacts, we suggest running 4 wall loops (perimeters) to reinforce the frame edges and the cantilevered shelf lip against tension.
  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm
  • Supports: Well-placed tree supports are required beneath the overhanging inner top arch curve, below the protruding bottom shelf molding, and under the structural details of the upper spires for a flawless surface finish.

Sizing Information: The model features elegant vertical proportions optimized to frame focus objects with classical symmetry on narrow walls or pillars. Please feel free to freely resize the model inside your slicing software to custom-tailor the inner alcove space to your exact display or storage requirements.

INFORMATION:

A common question is: why do these prints require supports when they could be printed lying flat?

For my designs, I deliberately choose to print them standing upright rather than flat, in order to achieve the best possible level of detail. I prioritize visual quality over saving a few grams of filament.

Of course, you are free to change the print orientation in your slicer if you prefer.
