Hey everyone!

We always read about epic battles with dragons, or watch them breathing fire and tearing down cities in movies. They are almost always caught in moments of rage or high-stakes action. For this design, I wanted to do something a little different and give my dragon a much-needed break.

He is completely at peace, just leaning his back against a row of fantasy books, serving as the perfect literary guardian for your bookshelf.

I really wanted to capture a heavy, metallic antique look for this piece. To achieve the finish, I printed him in black PLA and dry-brushed the surface with golden Rub'n Buff. It gives the scales and wings an incredible, weighted, cast-bronze feeling that looks stunning on a wooden shelf.

This model is completely optimized for a seamless, hassle-free printing experience:

• Print-in-Place: Absolutely zero assembly required. Just slice and print!
• Filament Used: Only 95g of filament.
• Print Time: Quick print turnaround, clocks in at around 7 hours.
• Supports: Very minimal support needed, and they are easy to remove.

Pro-Tip for Heavy Books

Extra step you don't have to do, but it works incredibly well if you want to try it: To give the bookend a firm grip and prevent extra heavy books from sliding, I added one Double-Sided Adhesive Dots to the bottom. You can find them easily online (350pcs for $5.99 on Amazon), though I think I grabbed mine from Temu for even less than that! It’s a cheap, easy hack to make a lightweight print hold up serious weight. stick one side and let your customer remove the otherside to keep it fresh and clean.
