I wanted to create a ruler that could adapt to everyone's needs instead of being just another standard model.

Whether you need a simple ruler for everyday use, a personalized gift, or a tool with your own logo, this model lets you customize almost every aspect directly in MakerWorld.

Everything has been designed to be easy to use while still offering plenty of customization options.

Measurement System

Choose between:

Metric

• Millimeter subdivisions
• Centimeter numbering
• Adjustable length in centimeters

Imperial

• Inch numbering
• Fractional inch subdivisions
• Adjustable length in inches

The ruler always starts at 0, just like a standard ruler.

Multi-color Printing

The model is divided into separate parts so each one can have its own color:

• Base
• Measuring section
• Scale numbers
• Custom text
• Icon

For the best readability, I recommend using contrasting colors. A light base combined with a dark measuring section makes the engraved scale much easier to read because the lighter base becomes visible inside the engraved tick marks.

Personalization

You can personalize your ruler with your own text, choose the font, adjust its size and alignment, or let the model automatically resize the text to fit the available space.

If you prefer, you can completely hide the text and use only an icon.

For the icon, you can either choose one of the built-in designs or upload your own SVG file. Position and size can be adjusted independently to create the layout you like.
