Stag - 3D Printed OTT/TTF Slingshot
Print Profile(0)
Description
Stag is a 3D-printed slingshot inspired by the shape and powerful presence of a stag beetle. Like a stag beetle ready to strike, it combines the hardness of an insect shell, the tension of biomorphic design, and the practical structure of a handmade tool. That is why it is named “Stag.”
This slingshot features 25 mm wide fork tips, making it compatible with most common slingshot bands. The large central U-shaped opening provides excellent projectile compatibility, making it suitable for clay balls, fishing darts, and larger stones.
Both fork arms use a side-inserted nut structure designed for M5 nuts. This improves fastening strength while giving the overall form a thick, stable, and geometric appearance.
The fork tips support both OTT / Over-the-Top and TTF / Through-the-Forks band setups. For the OTT setup, the bands can be secured with zip ties or amber bands, or used together with printed clamps. The TTF setup requires the corresponding printed clamps.
The handle incorporates shell-like rounded contours and flowing transitions, creating a balance between mechanical structure and organic form. Its grip is especially suited for a push-grip shooting style, offering solid and stable support. The lower handle continues the hard and powerful visual language of the stag beetle. It fills the palm well and provides a full, comfortable grip.
Overall, the design combines functionality, structural strength, and sculptural character. It is both a practical 3D-printed slingshot model and a personalized biomimetic design inspired by insects.
