Description
🚴♂️ Stop Stem Screw Rust! | Stem Top Cap 🌧️
You're out riding your bike, look down, and notice that ugly, orange rusty screw right in the middle of your handlebars. You keep thinking: "If I had printed a protector before, could I have prevented this?" The answer is YES! 🛑 This simple, sleek model creates a tight seal that prevents water, mud, and sweat from reaching the steel screw, keeping your bike looking brand new.

⚙️ Print Specifications & Material Choice
🧱 PLA (Alternative)
- Perfect if you don’t have TPU! It offers an incredibly easy print, a beautiful finish, and snaps into place perfectly.
🧵 TPU (Highly Recommended)
- Offers a much stronger, watertight grip, absorbs vibrations, and makes it easier to remove when you need to maintain your bike.
🚴♂️ Recommendations for Printing in TPU
Since TPU can be one of the trickiest materials to print depending on the brand, we encourage you to follow this simple roadmap. Note: Stop whenever you get a perfect print! You don't need to print all the plates.
- Step 1: The 'Standard Supports' Plate. Start here. This plate prints the cover using Bambu Studio’s default support settings. If you are using official Bambu Lab TPU, this will likely be perfect on the first try!
- Step 2: The 'TPU Test Plate' (If Step 1 fails) If the standard supports get permanently stuck to the part, print this test plate. It contains several covers with different Z-distances (gaps) between the support and the model. This guarantees you will find the perfect tolerance for your specific filament brand.
- Step 3: Print the Winner! Identify the cover from the test plate that had the easiest support removal and the cleanest finish. Now, you can print only that specific one using the same plate!
💻 How to isolate and duplicate your winning cover (Bambu Studio):
(Insert your GIF here)
- In the left panel of Bambu Studio, switch from the Global tab to the Objects tab.
- Uncheck the boxes next to the covers that didn't print well (this will skip them).
- Want more than one? Right-click the winning object in the list, select Clone, choose the number of copies you want, and click OK.
- Hit print and enjoy your rust-free bike!
