Description

Flashforge Creator 5 Front Enclosure V2 (Magnetic Edition)

After the success of the original Front Enclosure V1, we've continued refining the design and are excited to release Front Enclosure V2 for the Flashforge Creator 5.

This new version has been redesigned from the ground up to provide a cleaner installation, improved usability, and a much more OEM-like appearance. The result is a front enclosure solution that feels like it could have come directly from the factory.

What's New in V2?

✅ Magnetic mounting system

✅ Uses standard 6x2 mm magnets

✅ Cleaner OEM-style appearance

✅ Easy installation

✅ Improved user experience

✅ Compatible with the Creator 5 enclosure ecosystem

Two Versions Included

To make this design accessible to everyone, we've included two different versions.

Fully 3D Printable Version

A complete 3D printable enclosure is included for users who have access to very large format printers.

We printed ours on a belt printer, which made it possible to produce the large panel sections required.

Polycarbonate Panel Version

Since most users don't own a belt printer or a printer large enough to produce these parts in one piece, we've also included a version designed around polycarbonate panels.

A DXF file is provided in the Downloads section, allowing you to have the panels laser-cut locally or through an online service.

For most users, this will likely be the easiest and most practical option.

Bill of Materials (BOM)

The following hardware is required for the magnetic version:

Magnets

  • Minimum: 12x 6x2 mm magnets
  • Maximum: 36x 6x2 mm magnets

The design works with as few as 12 magnets, but additional magnets can be installed for increased holding force.

Fasteners

  • 14x M3 x 12 mm screws
  • 12x M3 nuts

Please verify screw lengths before assembly, as tolerances and printed part variations may differ slightly depending on your printer and material choice.

Installation

Installation is straightforward and requires minimal effort.

The magnetic design uses 6x2 mm magnets to securely hold the front enclosure in place while still allowing quick access to the build area when needed.

Once installed, the enclosure integrates nicely with the Creator 5 and provides an OEM-like fit and finish.

Downloads

Included in this release:

  • Fully 3D printable Front Enclosure V2
  • Polycarbonate panel version
  • DXF files for laser cutting
  • Required printable mounting components

Please review the files carefully and choose the version that best suits your setup.

Special Thanks

Just like with the V1 release, we would like to give a very special thank you to Rob (ROBO).

This project would not have been possible without his collaboration, testing, feedback, and countless discussions throughout the design process. His contribution played a major role in bringing this project to life.

Thank you, Rob!
