Convert your Classic Xbox into a miniature console

Transform your original Xbox into a miniature version with this model designed to reduce the console's size by approximately 40%, preserving the essence, functionality, and aesthetics of the original console

This design allows for creating a more compact original Xbox using 3D printing

Main features

  • 40% size reduction compared to the original Classic Xbox
  • Reused internal power supply:
The design allows for preserving and reusing the original Xbox's power supply within the new casing, avoiding the need to purchase an external power supply or make additional modifications
  • Compatibility with the original front panel:
The original front panel is reused, maintaining the original buttons with their characteristic feel
  • New USB control system:
The original Xbox Classic ports are replaced by 4 USB ports, using the OGX Mini project to make them compatible with modern controllers

USB control system (OGX Mini)

To make each port/controller functional, individual assembly is required
For each controller you want to use, you will need:

  • 1x Raspberry Pi Pico (normal model or W model)
    • The Pico W version allows adding Bluetooth connectivity to use compatible wireless controllers
  • 1x Female USB with integrated PCB
    • It is important that it includes a PCB, as this piece allows for screw-based fastening

Each USB port works independently, so these components are required for each controller you want to add

Design details

  • The casing is secured using the same original screws from the original Xbox
  • If you want to acquire new screws, M3 screws can be used
  • Includes a system of anti-slip rubber feet inspired by the original design
    • It is recommended to print these parts in TPU to maintain flexibility and grip similar to the original model
  • Compatible with 40x40 mm fan
    • A Noctua fan or another brand can be used, as long as it is that size

Preserve the identity of the original console

The top cover includes a space designed to reuse the original Xbox logo, allowing you to remove the logo from the original casing and place it on the new mini version

HDMI adaptation

The model allows for an HDMI modification, but the HDMI adapter files are not included in this package

The HDMI model is available separately on my Bambu profile in my other designs

Assembly video

To see in more detail the complete assembly process, component installation, console operation, and additional modifications like HDMI bridging, here is my YouTube video, where I explain step by step how to do it:

Print recommendation:

  • Casing: PETG
  • Anti-slip rubber feet: TPU
  • Required fan: 40x40 mm

This project is designed to reuse as many original Xbox components as possible, creating a compact, functional, and faithful version of the original design
