Description

A detailed Gordon Freeman display bust created using MakerLab's Make My Statue tool and refined through extensive printing, support tuning, painting, and finishing.

This Gordon Freeman bust was created using the Make My Statue tool in MakerLab as a starting point and then refined through multiple print iterations, support testing, painting, and finishing work to achieve the final result shown in the photos.

I did not sculpt this model completely from scratch. Credit for the original AI-assisted generation belongs to MakerLab's Make My Statue tool. My contribution was taking that generated model through the full process of preparation, printing, testing, finishing, painting, and presentation. The reference render shown in the gallery was also created by me to help visualize the completed painted version.

Print Settings Used

- Scale: 120%

- Layer Height: 0.20 mm

- Infill: 15%

- Nozzle: 0.4 mm

- Material: PLA

- Supports: Slim Tree Supports

- Support Top Z Distance: 0.265 mm

These settings worked well for me and provided relatively easy support removal while preserving facial details and armor features. Depending on your printer, filament, and preferences, you may wish to use your own support settings to further optimize support removal and surface quality.

## Finishing Process

The painted version shown in the photos was finished using:

- Primer

- Sanding and cleanup

- Spot putty where needed

- Acrylic paints

- Weathering effects

- Clear protective coat

About This Model

As a longtime Half-Life fan, I wanted to create a display piece that captured Gordon Freeman's iconic appearance while remaining printable on a consumer FDM printer. The model shown in the photos was printed successfully on a Bambu Lab P2S and scaled to 120% for additional detail and display presence. (I added the crowbar myself from another creator's wrok, you can do the same!)

If you print one, I'd love to see your results. Feel free to post a make, share your paint job, or remix it into your own version.
