Ashen Reliquary – Print-in-Place Gothic Earrings

Ashen Reliquary is a long gothic earring design combining a delicate ornamental centerpiece with a sharply tapered pendant. Its slender silhouette creates bold movement while remaining lightweight and elegant.

The special feature of this model is the print-in-place connection between the two decorative elements. Both parts are printed already linked together, so no separate jump ring is needed between the central ornament and the lower pendant.

A jump ring or another suitable connector is still required at the top to attach the printed piece to an ear hook, earring post, chain, or other jewelry finding.

For my test print, I used a 0.2 mm nozzle to preserve the fine details.

Because the moving connection is printed directly in place, supports are required. I tested PETG as a support material, but the supports were easiest to remove when both the model and the support structures were printed in PLA.

Please be patient and work carefully when removing the supports. The ornament and print-in-place connection contain delicate areas that may break if the supports are pulled away too quickly or with too much force.

Printing notes

• Remove all supports slowly and carefully

   

Once the supports have been fully removed, the lower pendant should move freely within its printed connection.
