Description
My drain plug broke and I needed another because it was dripping and puddling all over under my furnace. So I printed this one out of pla and it held water tight when tightened by hand. ABS might be better but I didn't have any on hand and this seems to be working perfectly. It is It is over-engineered in the sense that it has way more threads than needed, but it got the job done and stuck out far enough to be tightened by hand.
More descriptively:
This model was created as a replacement for a broken condensate drain cleanout plug on a residential HVAC evaporator coil. It is designed to fit a standard 1/2" NPT female threaded condensate drain access port commonly found on furnaces, air handlers, and air conditioning systems.
Rather than replacing an entire drain fitting or waiting for a replacement part, this plug can be printed quickly and installed to restore the condensate drain system.
