Description

Since uploading a 3mf file that contains custom printer types or filament types is not allowed on MakerWorld, there are no Print Profiles included in this model - you have to manually download the Profile via the “Download STL/CAD Files”-Button

Prusa provides an excellent print profile for Prusament PC Blend Carbon Fibre Black (PCCF, a Polycarbonate Blend with Carbon Fibres) on their own printers and the material itself is genuinely impressive. Unfortunately, there is currently no dedicated profile available for Bambu Lab printers, so I decided to create and fine-tune one myself in order to print PCCF reliably on my H2C equipped with a heated chamber.

The goal of this profile was not only to achieve successful prints, but to fully leverage the material's strengths: outstanding rigidity, excellent layer adhesion, dimensional stability and the characteristic high-quality surface finish that makes carbon-fiber-reinforced polycarbonate such an attractive engineering material.

Validation Print Profiles included:

  • Bambu Cube
  • 3DBenchy

These test models were used to evaluate dimensional accuracy, overhangs, bridging, surface quality and overall print consistency.

Printing tips:

To get an ideal finish, print it on a Smooth PEI plate or the Engineering Plate - besides the Filament Profile, the Prints hugely benefit from adjusted flow ratios for the intial layer and the bridges:

  • Bridge Flow: 1.1
  • Initial Layer Flow: 1.1

Increasing the bridge flow impoves  bridge consistency and reduced under-extrusion on longer spans, while the higher initial layer flow provided a cleaner, almost perfect first layer without gaps.

Notes

For best results, PCCF should be thoroughly dried before printing and used in a controlled environment. An actively heated chamber is not needed but recommended, especially for larger parts, to minimize internal stresses and maximize layer bonding. While this profile was developed and validated on an H2C with a heated chamber, it should also serve as a solid starting point for other Bambu Lab setups capable of maintaining the temperatures required by polycarbonate-based materials.

If you are looking for a well-tested Bambu Lab profile for Prusament PCCF, this profile aims to provide a reliable foundation while preserving the excellent print quality and mechanical properties that make this material stand out.
