🛠️ Mechanical Skull Wall Decor / Piston & Wrench Skull 💀

An incredibly detailed and aggressive wall decor model for all gearheads, tuning enthusiasts, automotive mechanics, and rockers This skull blends perfectly with the world of engines and tools: in the background, two massive pistons and two classic open-ended/ring wrenches cross

This model is ideal for the workshop, garage, 'nerd room', or the living room of true gearheads

🎨 Painting & Finish (Airbrush & Dry Brush Recommendation)

The model was designed to look fantastic even when printed in a single color (e.g., matte gray, white, or black). However, its full splendor is revealed through post-processing

For the perfect custom look, I recommend the following techniques:

1. Primer: A matte, dark primer (preferably black or dark anthracite) to create deep shadows in the eye sockets, bone crevices, and tool gaps
2. Airbrush (Main Color): Spray with a lighter color (e.g., bone white, light gray, or silver) at a 45° angle from above (zenithal light) to set the highlights
3. Dry Brushing: Gently brush over the raised structures with an almost dry, wide brush and light white or metallic silver paint. This sharply highlights the edges of the skull, the threads of the pistons, and the contours of the wrenches, giving them an ingenious used look

🖨️ Print Settings

To bring out the fine details of the skull and tools perfectly, I recommend the following settings:

• Infill: 10% to 15% (Gyroid or Grid are perfectly sufficient, as it is purely wall decor)
• Walls (Wall Loops): 2–3 walls for optimal stability of the thin wrench ends
• Layer Height: 0.16mm or 0.20mm. For maximum detail on the skull, 0.16mm (or adaptive layer height in Bambu Studio) is perfect
• Supports: * Since the model lies flat on the print bed, slim tree supports are needed under the overhangs of the skull (jaw, eyebrows) and the slightly floating parts of the wrenches
  • Tip: Use "Support Painting" in Bambu Studio to place supports only where they are truly needed, so the back remains clean
• Material: PLA or PETG (Matte filaments are especially good if you paint them afterwards)

🔧 Wall Mounting

The model has a flat back. It can be easily attached to any wall with:

• Double-sided mounting tape (e.g., Tesa Powerstrips) or
• A small picture hanger / sawtooth hanger glued to the back
