Window Mat Holders / Clamp Hooks for Camper Mats

These small clamp hooks are used to secure blackout or thermal mats to the fixed side windows in camper or high-roof combi van conversions.

The hook is simply inserted between the window glass and the plastic frame. This allows the mat to be held neatly against the window without drilling, gluing, or making any permanent changes to the vehicle.

I use these holders in my Peugeot Rifter L2, model year 2018, in combination with mats from Project Camper from Hamburg. This model may also work with other vehicles with similar window construction, but this must be checked independently.

Variants

Two hook variants are included in the download:

• narrow variant for smaller gaps between glass and frame
• wider variant for slightly larger gaps

The suitable variant can be chosen depending on the vehicle, mat, and desired holding force. Simply increase the required quantity in the slicer and print multiple copies.

Print Material

Recommended material: PETG

PETG is suitable for this purpose as it is more temperature-resistant than PLA in the vehicle interior. Vehicles can heat up significantly, especially in summer.

Print Instructions

• Material: PETG
• Layer height: as desired, e.g., 0.20 mm
• Infill: approx. 20–40% sufficient
• Supports: usually not required, check depending on orientation
• Orientation: lay flat on the largest contact surface
• Quantity: duplicate as needed in the slicer

Assembly

1. Select the appropriate variant.
2. Carefully insert the hook between the window glass and the plastic frame.
3. Hang or secure the mat to it.
4. Check the fit and add more hooks if necessary.

Please do not insert with force. Depending on the vehicle, the gap can be narrower or wider. Before use, check that the glass, frame, seal, or mat are not damaged.

This is a private, self-made accessory and not an official product from Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, Toyota, or Project Camper. Use at your own risk. Especially in high temperatures inside the vehicle, regularly check whether the material deforms or the holding force changes.
