Description

[UPDATE 6/17/2026: Uploaded the low profile version of the retaining clip. This design will reduce the likelihood of the clip getting caught on stuff like branches and flying off. The original version is still available for download. The new version will be beneficial if you mount your can on the exterior of your vehicle, whereas the original will be useful if you like to mount your can in a protected area, such as inside the truck bed.)

This is just a simple cover for the Rotopax RX-LOX-PM locking pack mount to keep the barrel lock free of debris.

One of the chief complaints about the Rotopax LOX mount is the fact that the barrel lock jams often, especially after being exposed to the elements. You can try lubricating the lock and the cylinder with the appropriate lube, but that will eventually wear off if the thing is left exposed.

This thing has two components:

  • Cover: Self-explanatory
  • Retaining clip: Keeps the cover from falling off

There are some tiny holes located through the model. Those are weep holes for any water that might get in through the gap between the cover and the handle. There's a little channel located inside the cover, and any water that enters should follow the channel and drain out from the weep holes.

Usage Instructions

Step 1: Observe the exposed LOX mount. Look at how pathetic and vulnerable it is, just waiting to screw you over when you need to access the fuel in the future.
Step 2: Put the cover on.
Step 3: Slightly pull on the lips on the sides while pressing the center in to widen the clips and insert it into the center of the cover, and push it in until it clicks.
Step 4: Observe in awe as you no longer have to worry about the barrel lock jamming from being exposed to water and debris.
To remove: Pull on the side lips and press in on the center to widen the clip, and gently pull it out.
