More Efficient Model Available on my Profile!
Disclaimer:
This model is outdated, please try out my newer EDF model on my profile that utilises a much more efficient BLDC motor.
Hello all, here is my second model ever posted on Makerworld! It is a 90mm electric ducted fan that is powered by a 12-24v HUSETOO 775 DC MOTOR that can comfortably spin the propeller at 20,000 revolutions per minute! It pulls in 180 watts at 24v and makes a decent amount of thrust.
RECOMMENDED TO BE PRINTED IN PETG FILAMENT!
PS: This project was designed to push the limits of brushed edfs before I had a BLDC motor.
What is required:
- 4x M5 Screws
- 4x M5 Nuts
- 12-24v HUSETOO 775 DC MOTOR (MAKE SURE IT IS A D-SHAFT CONFIGURATION!!!)
The assembly is fairly straightfoward and should not require an in-depth tutorial. Rather, I will just give a brief explanation on assembly; first, hammer down the rotor onto the motor shaft (you might need to heat up the rotor with a lighter to soften the shaft hole). Next, put the motor inside the holder on one of the casings where it is surrounded by stators then put the other stator on. After that screw in all the m5 screws and use the nuts to further clamp down the shroud together so there is no air leaks.
That is all, have fun!
