Downspout Critter Guard

This downspout guard is designed to keep critters from climbing up into a 2x3 downspout while still allowing water and leaves to flow out freely. It solves the common problem of animals entering the gutter system and coming back down to agitate pets, while maintaining normal drainage performance.

The design fully covers the outlet of the downspout so animals cannot easily get inside, but leaves the bottom open to allow water, small debris, and leaves to pass through without clogging. The shape also helps guide water down and away, reducing splashback.

Installation is simple and requires no hardware. The guard slides directly onto a standard 2x3 downspout for a snug friction fit. It can be removed just as easily for cleaning or seasonal maintenance. Downspout door is printed in place and may need material removed on top corners or breaking in the hinge to function properly

Print recommendations:

• Material: PETG or ASA for outdoor use and UV resistance. PLA can be used but may not hold up long term.
• Infill: 15 to 25 percent

• Supports: not required 

   

Notes:

• Designed specifically for standard 2x3 rectangular downspouts
• Adjust scale slightly if needed for a tighter or looser fit depending on your gutter manufacturer
• Works best positioned over a splash block or drainage area to keep water moving away from the foundation
