Description

Replace expensive injection-molded plastic or metal clips with this heavy-duty, 3D-printable hidden fastener for WPC (Wood-Plastic Composite) decking boards. Designed with a classic T-shape profile, this clip ensures a seamless, screw-free surface look for your terrace while maintaining an exact, consistent 6mm expansion gap between boards.

Perfect for quick repairs, extending an existing deck, or fully DIY-ing your terrace installation without paying premium store prices.

šŸ“ Technical Specifications & Dimensions

  • Shape: Standard T-Clip / Hidden Decking Fastener
  • Length: 35 mm
  • Width: 18 mm
  • Height: 11 mm
  • Resulting Decking Gap (Fuga): 6 mm
  • Screw Hole: Centered, optimized for standard countersunk decking screws.

šŸ’” Key Features

  • Invisible Finish: Completely hidden in the grooves of your composite boards for a clean, modern aesthetic.
  • Heavy-Duty Geometry: Reinforced core to withstand thermal expansion and contraction of WPC boards throughout the seasons.
  • Cost-Effective: Print exactly as many as you need, when you need them.

šŸ–Øļø Recommended Print Settings (Crucial for Outdoor Durability)

Because these clips will be exposed to high mechanical stress, UV radiation, and changing weather conditions, do not print them in standard PLA.

  • Recommended Material: ASA (Best for UV and weather resistance) or PETG (Good budget alternative, though slightly less UV resistant than ASA). For ultimate strength.
  • Perimeters / Walls: Minimum 4–5 walls (Perimeters) to ensure structural integrity around the screw hole.
  • Infill: 40% – 50% (Gyroid or Cubic for multidirectional strength) or 100% solid for maximum peace of mind.
  • Layer Height: 0.2mm for optimal layer adhesion.

🪵 Tested in Real Life!

I designed and printed these clips for my own terrace using PETG. They have been installed and holding the WPC boards perfectly. So far, the performance is absolutely great – they are holding strong, dealing well with the weather, and show no signs of fatigue. It's a fully proven, field-tested design!

šŸ”© Installation Tip

When screwing the clips down, set your cordless screwdriver's clutch (torque setting) to around 3–4. This provides just the right amount of force to hold the WPC board tightly in place without overtightening or cracking the plastic clip.
