Description

I've wanted to update my original Nice Ice Baby case for a while. This new version improves on the old design in a few ways:

Print-in-place hinge, so there's no need to snap it together after printing. Should make the case more durable.
Improved latch design. Easier to open and close.
Cleaner edges and corners. This version uses a 2mm chamfer instead of rounded fillets, so it prints cleaner and looks nicer.

could you improve the latch on the groovy glob case like you did on this one?

I took a stab at it, but the issue is that the improved latch only works on cases that are cut right down the middle (so that the hinge can also be printed in place). The print in place hinge allows for a tighter tolerance and better fit of the hinge. but when i tried this with the groovy glob it will sometimes pinch the needoh as it closes. I'll keep noodling on it. I just got a pizza and nice-sicle so I'm trying to build a case for those right now

I made this for my daughter and she absolutely lost it and couldn’t wait to take it to school to show it off to everyone at her school. she came home with a list of names of kids who also wanted one lol. FANTASTIC print. no issues at all
