Cable-Tensioned Tabletop for L3GO Storage Bricks

You can use this model for a seat:

This is a modular 3D printed tabletop designed to fit on original L3GO Storage Bricks and turn them into a colorful, functional everyday table.

The tabletop is made from multiple printed PETG HF panels that are mechanically pulled together by a 2 mm stainless steel cable. The cable runs through a continuous channel around the outer edge of the tabletop. Once threaded through, it is tightened with an M8 bolt and M8 nut, creating a very rigid and stable surface without glue.

The neon green elliptical parts are printed from TPU. They act as flexible inserts/guides during assembly and help the cable-tensioned structure work cleanly while keeping the design easy to assemble.

Required Hardware

  • 2 mm stainless steel wire rope / cable
  • - 1x M8 bolt
  • - 1x M8 nut
  • - Optional: cable cutter and pliers for easier assembly

Recommended Materials

  • Main tabletop parts: PETG HF
  • - Flexible elliptical inserts: TPU

Assembly Overview

  1. Print all rigid tabletop modules in PETG HF.
  2. 2. Print the neon green elliptical inserts in TPU.
  3. 3. Lay out the tabletop modules upside down in the correct arrangement.
  4. 4. Insert the TPU ellipses into their positions.
  5. 5. Thread the 2 mm stainless steel cable through the outer perimeter channel.
  6. 6. Route both cable ends to the tensioning point.
  7. 7. Use the M8 bolt and nut to tension the cable until the tabletop becomes firm and stable.
  8. 8. Place the finished tabletop onto original L3GO Storage Bricks.

The result is a strong, playful tabletop that matches the L3GO storage brick look and can be used as a small daily-use table, kids’ table, display table, or storage-brick coffee table.

This model is compatible with original L3GO Storage Bricks, but it is not an official product and is not affiliated with any brick manufacturer.
