WINNER Egg Drop Challenge Design (3.81 g !!)

This is an ultra-lightweight, fully assemblable protection cage designed for an Egg Drop-style challenge.

I designed and printed this model for an Egg Drop Challenge, but in this competition the object to protect was not an egg: it was a fragile glass Christmas ornament. The goal was to create the lightest possible structure while still absorbing impact and keeping the object safe during the drop.

The final design weighs only 3.8 g and takes about 40 minutes to print, making it a fast, lightweight and efficient solution for drop-test experiments, school projects, STEM activities or design challenges.

The model is made of multiple parts that can be assembled around the object. The curved outer shell helps distribute impact, while the flexible loop structure underneath adds shock absorption and keeps the protected object suspended inside the frame.
