Simple 3D printable wind spinner with ball-bearing spinner for particularly quiet and smooth operation

I printed the wind spinner from PETG, the parts are somewhat flexible and thus withstand strong storms

The model consists of the following parts:

  • Base
  • Tail
  • Tail Holder
  • Spinner
  • Spinner Base

Additionally required hardware

  • 9x M8 nuts
  • approx 20 cm M8 threaded rod
  • 1x additional M8 threaded rod as a mount
(length depending on desired assembly height)
  • 6x M3x12 screws
  • 2x M3 nuts
  • 4x Heat Insert Nuts M3xL5xOD4
  • 3x 688ZZ bearings (8x16x5 mm)
  • some thread locker

Notes

  • The ball bearings ensure very smooth operation even with little wind
  • PETG is recommended for outdoor use
  • Thread locker prevents nuts from loosening due to vibrations
  • The height can be flexibly adjusted using the second M8 threaded rod

Have fun printing and assembling!
