Description

Ahoy, mateys!

This project includes a full-scale model as well as sliced pieces meant to be glued/assembled. Finished piece size is 26" in length.

The first 4 plates can be printed as is, with supports. The hilt and top blade piece have a hollow cylinder that fits a ¼" dowel rod to connect them for extra stability. It also allows you to keep the blade removeable if you don't wish to glue it, making it easier to repaint or repair if needed. The blade pieces are meant to be glued together, which will require some sanding and finishing if you need to hide the seam.

The full sword on plate #5 is not printable as is, but is there in case you want to modify the sword on your own.

I used this cutlass for a pirate costume at the local Renaissance Faire and it held up very well without being too heavy on my belt. I did resin the pieces after joining, to give it a smooth finish, then painted by hand and with spray paint.
