Description

REAL PHOTO!!

This is a high-performance, modular tripod system designed for extreme durability and load-bearing capacity. Unlike standard flexible mounts, this design utilizes a smart interlocking ball-joint mechanism that combines rigid structural integrity with high-friction flexible surfaces. It has been tested to easily support heavy loads, such as a full 0.4kg beer glass mounted alongside a GOPRO camera (No AI photo, a real one!>>>), without slipping! So even a big phone shouldn't be an issue!

Smart Interlock & Hybrid Design

The system consists of two primary components per link (could be printed only in PETG, however it won't support heavy loads then):

  1. Structural Core (Hard): Printed in PETG for maximum rigidity and "snap" strength.
  2. Friction Sleeve (Soft): Printed in TPU (95A recommended) to provide the necessary grip between joints, ensuring the tripod holds its position under heavy weight.

While a "PETG-only" version is possible, the Hybrid PETG+TPU configuration is highly recommended for maximum longevity and grip. The "smart interlock" ensures that once snapped together, the joints remain secure even under significant tension.

Customization Options

  • You can easily print more or less joints and adjust the length of arms as you desire! If  you manage to break some joint, you don't have to print whole tripod again - just print a replacement joint!
  • Multicolor possible - just print joints separately each color on another plate!

 

Recommended Print Settings

  • Material: PETG (Core) + TPU 95A (Sleeve)
  • Wall Loops: 4 minimum (for the ball and socket strength)
  • Infill: 30% (Gyroid recommended)
  • Layer Height: 0.2mm
  • Support: Not required, the interlocking collar is designed to be self-supporting. PETG has also very good hold on Hotbed. In case small parts wont holt well on your build plate, consider using brim. I printed hundreds of joints and never had an issue with adhesion.

To mount Holder on the tripod, you would need a standard M5 bolt + screw, which is readily available at any local hardware store
