Description
Hello everyone,
This is a round cable grommet designed for the ZTE MC889 modem/router.
The ZTE MC889 is supplied with a pre-terminated flat cable that cannot be easily replaced. This printed grommet allows you to use your own round cable with a 6 mm diameter while keeping the port cover sealed.
The model consists of:
- a main plate printed in PETG
- soft sealing parts printed in TPU, preferably 90A or softer
- optional rubber O-ring for improved sealing
For the main circular seal, you can either print the gasket included on Plate 2, or use a rubber O-ring instead.
I recommend using a rubber O-ring with:
- outer diameter: 28–30 mm
thickness / cross-section: approx. 1.6 mm
A rubber O-ring should provide a better seal. However, if you do not have access to a suitable O-ring, you can print the gasket from Plate 2 in TPU.
Plate 2 also includes the cable seal. For better water resistance, I recommend adding a small amount of glue between the TPU cable seal and the PETG plate.
To mount the grommet, you will also need:
- 2 × M3x16 screws
- 2 × washers
These parts are included in the BOM.
