Modular Removable Snap Rivet - Fully Parametric
This is a fully parametric, 3D-printable removable snap rivet system designed for modular builds, panels, enclosures, organizers, trays, and custom fixtures. Instead of using a permanent rivet, this design uses a reusable split-body rivet with interchangeable locking pins and optional spacer collars, so it can be installed, removed, and reused without damaging the part.
The model is built as a customizable system for different hole sizes, grip thicknesses, and locking strength. It is ideal for prototype assemblies, lightweight panels, modular boxes, printed accessories, and other projects where you want a clean fastener look without using third-party hardware.

Print notes
For very small sizes like the 2 mm version, a 0.2 mm nozzle is strongly recommended. PETG works best for durability and repeat use. PLA can work for test fitting, but PETG is the better choice for functional parts.
Recommended settings
- 0.2 mm nozzle for micro sizes
- 0.08 to 0.12 mm layer height for tiny parts
- PETG recommended
- Slow outer walls for best fit
- Print body upright for best leg flex
- Print locking pin upright for best detail
Important note
The 2 mm version is extremely small and meant for fine-detail printing. For easier printing and stronger real-world use, scaling this design to 3 mm, 4 mm, or 5 mm hole sizes is recommended.
Why I made this
I wanted a printable rivet that looks clean, installs easily, and can actually be removed without destroying the part. Most plastic push rivets are single-use or not well suited for FDM printing, so this design focuses on printability, modularity, and real reuse.
