Japanese Spitz Bust

This Japanese Spitz bust captures the breed’s bright expression and balanced elegance in a clean, sculptural interpretation. Presented in a calm three-quarter profile, the piece conveys alert intelligence and gentle composure—qualities that define this charming companion breed.

The head is compact and well-proportioned, with a softly tapered muzzle and neatly defined stop. Subtle contouring around the eye creates the characteristic lively, attentive expression. The triangular ears stand erect and symmetrical, forming a crisp silhouette that reinforces the Spitz’s confident bearing.

Particular attention has been given to the coat structure. The sculpt transitions smoothly from the refined facial planes into the fuller neck ruff, where layered texturing suggests the dense, plush double coat. Fine directional strokes create depth without overwhelming the clean geometry of the head. The overall modelling emphasizes clarity and structure while maintaining the softness associated with the breed.

The bronze-effect finish enhances the sculptural detail. Darkened patina gathers within the recesses of the ruff and beneath the ear interiors, strengthening shadow definition. Raised planes along the muzzle, cheek, and brow catch warmer metallic highlights, producing contrast and visual depth. This interplay of light and shadow accentuates the Japanese Spitz’s bright, fox-like expression.

Mounted on a stepped cylindrical plinth, the bust achieves classical balance and display presence. The solid base anchors the upright ear carriage and rounded coat mass, providing visual stability beneath the compact, symmetrical head form.
