Description

Print It. Fold It. Fly It.
What if you could 3D print a sheet of paper?
This project turns your printer into a paper factory, creating a thin, flexible sheet that you can fold into any paper airplane you want.
No fixed design. No rules. Just print and let your imagination take over.

What makes this different?
Instead of offering one specific airplane, this provides something more interesting: freedom.

Fold a classic dart.
Try a glider.
Invent something completely new.

It behaves like paper, but with a twist:

  • More durable
  • Reusable
  • Consistent every time you print

Features

  • Ultra-thin single-piece print
  • Flexible enough to fold like paper
  • No supports needed
  • Tear-resistant and reusable
  • Unlimited folding possibilities

How to use

  1. Print the sheet
  2. Remove it from the bed
  3. Fold it your way
  4. Throw and experiment

Want better flight? Adjust your folds, add a tiny weight to the nose, or try different designs.

Print Settings

  • Material: PLA works best
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Cooling: High
  • Infill: 100% (thin sheet)
  • No supports required

Tip: Slight changes in thickness can make it feel softer or stiffer—experiment!

Why this exists
Paper planes are fun because everyone makes them differently.
This project keeps that spirit alive but replaces paper with something you can print, reuse, and experiment with.
It’s not just a plane.
It’s printable paper.

Takeoff Challenge Entry

Simple idea. Endless possibilities.

If you come up with a cool fold, remix, or flight style—share it!
