Easel Tripod Parts diy for cheap 1x2 lumber
Print Profile(2)

Description
Parts to make a DIY painting Easel or stand using cheap 1x2 lumber from Hdep. Simple hand tools can be used to make this easel, however you will need the ability to cut and adjust the dimensions of your wooden lumber, as well as possibly drilling pilot holes to avoid cracking. Middle bracket can be screwed on to the upright leg parts or simply clamped, for an easy breakdown or minimalist easel. Most of the 1x2's I measured were around 17.5x36.5mm, so the slots on this bracket were made based on the dimensions of 18x37mm for a snug fit, however since the thickness of all the cheap lumber can vary from board to board, be ready and able to fine tune the thickness of your lumber with either hand plane or sandpaper. Rear Leg of the tripod can be screwed in place using countersunk screw holes, or can simply be clamped in place as shown in the picture, allowing changing of the angle of the easel. If you are going to make an easel with these parts that you don't plan to set up and break down, I recommend using gorilla glue in the joints between the 3d printed parts and the wood for extra strength. I wanted mine to be able to be broken down and stored, so I only used screws in the brackets going into the wooden uprights, and it has proven to be plenty strong. I added hooks and chain between the front and rear legs of my easel to add strength, since my uprights are 7 feet tall. The cross member brackets on the profile are made to be mounted at whatever height you want, and have countersunk screw holes to secure them to the wooden beam that your artwork sits on.
There are no instructions or dimensions. You can cut the wooden parts to whatever lengths you want. The angles of the front two legs are fixed, but the rear leg has some adjustability to it.
