Description

Historic Atlanta Collegiate Tower (with "Stealing the T" Edition)

This is an original 3D model of the iconic administration building and clock tower located in Atlanta, GA. This design is a tribute to the historic "Tech Tower" and the unique traditions that surround it.

Functional Design

This model is designed as a two-piece storage box. The roof acts as a removable lid, while the main building serves as a hidden compartment for desk items, stationery, or memorabilia. No hinges required—the top is designed for a clean, simple fit.

The "Stealing the T" Tradition

In honor of the long-standing campus tradition, I have included two versions of the tower:

  1. The Standard Tower: Features the iconic "TECH" lettering on all four sides.
  2. The "Heist" Edition: For those who want to commemorate the tradition of stealing the T's.

Hidden Storage I designed this as a two-piece model. The roof and tower lift right off (simple friction fit, no hinges to break) so you can use the main building as a desk organizer or a hidden stash box for your small items.

Printing & Color (My Secret for the Gold) The .3mf is set up for AMS multi-color, but I’ll be honest: I didn't think the raw filament colors did the historic "Tech Gold" and brick justice. On the model in the photos, I used the AMS to get the base colors down and then hand-painted over the top to get that authentic look. The printed colors act as a perfect template if you want to do the same!

Settings for Success:

  • Supports: Use Tree (auto) from build plate only for the roof eaves and spire.
  • Walls: I used 3 wall loops to make sure the box felt solid.
  • Detail: I highly recommend using Variable Layer Height on the spire to keep those fine points looking sharp.

Just a reminder: This is a fan-created model for personal use. Please respect the Non-Commercial license and don't sell the files or prints!
