i Can try changing the clearance of the support to allow even easier breakaway support.

I’m not sure that would fix the issue, it seems that the layer adhesion of the PETG was extremely weak - I’m sure it would have broken when inserting a battery. Any suggestions?

Printed this with PETG for a Halloween costume prop and it is still functioning extremely well. Nice solid hold and small enough to mount just about anywhere.
