A simple wall mount display designed for my Hero DL-44 blaster model.
This was requested by a MakerWorld user, so I put together a few different versions depending on how you want to mount it and how much background detail you want behind the blaster.
It was designed around my own Hero DL-44 models, but it may also work with other DL-44 models. I just haven’t tested it with other versions, so I can’t guarantee fitment.
Mounting Options
The mounts were designed with two main mounting methods in mind:
- Command strips
- Good if you want a cleaner install without putting holes in the wall.
- Make sure you use enough strips for the weight of your blaster.
- Clean the wall surface properly before sticking anything on.
- Screws or nails
- The holes are designed for screws/nails up to around 3.5mm.
- I had 6g plasterboard screws in mind when designing it.
- Use suitable wall plugs/anchors if mounting into plasterboard or drywall.
Included Versions
There are a few different versions included:
- Minimal Wall Mount
- Small and simple.
- Uses less filament.
- Keeps the focus on the blaster.
- Larger Death Star Wall Pattern Mount
- A bigger display-style mount with a Death Star-inspired wall panel pattern.
- Looks much nicer if you want the mount to feel like part of the display, not just a holder.
- AMS Version with White Backing
- Designed for multi-colour printing with the white backing included.
- Gives the cut-out wall pattern more contrast.
- Best option if you have an AMS and want the cleanest print setup.
- Separate White Backing Version
- For people without an AMS.
- The backing is printed separately and installed behind the wall pattern.
- This version may need some supports depending on your slicer settings.
- No Backing Version
- Same Death Star-style panel, but without the white insert.
- Good if you prefer the wall colour showing through the cut-outs or want to add your own backing material.
Safety Note
Please make sure the mount is securely attached to the wall before placing the blaster on it. Command strips can work well, but the strength depends on the wall surface, strip type, and how well they are installed.
Suggestions Welcome
If you have ideas for other versions, different mounting styles, or wall mounts for other props, drop a comment and I’ll see what I can do.
