Teru Teru Bōzu Furin - Japanese wind chime

Traditionally hung to wish away the rain, this little figure now comes to life as a wind chim. Its soft, soothing tones are carried by the breeze, as if whispering a hopeful call for good weather.

This design blends tradition and whimsy: the classic Japanese wind chime meets the iconic handmade doll said to chase away rain and invite clear skies. The Teru Teru Bōzu (and also the tanzaku) is designed to be printed in two colors for an extra touch of character: typically a white body with a contrasting ribbon. No multi-material system is needed: if you don't have one, simply add a pause in your slicer at the height of the ribbon and manually switch filament.

Assembly is simple and requires just a piece of string:

• Use a string that fits the 3 mm hole on the bell
• Thread the string through the bell, the clapper, and the tanzaku
• Secure each part in place by tying knots along the string to keep the three printed pieces properly spaced.
