Clean, detailed dragon FDM print — but don’t let the looks fool you, this one fights back a bit.

Difficulty: 6.5/10
This model prints beautifully with the right setup, but it’s not beginner-friendly. The main challenge is the supports, especially under the wings. Those areas are thin and fragile, so removal needs patience — rush it and you will snap something.

Tips:

  • Let the print cool completely before touching it — warm plastic = easier to bend or damage thin parts
  • Don’t just rip supports off — wiggle and “peel” them gradually instead
  • Use good lighting while cleaning — you’ll catch tiny support leftovers before they ruin the finish
  • Light sanding (very fine grit) can clean up rough spots without killing detail
  • When removing supports under the wings, take it slow and use proper tools (flush cutters recommended)
  • A little heat (like warm air) can help soften stubborn supports without stressing the part

Ideal filaments if you are not painting it:

  • Matte black
  • Matte white
  • Light grey
  • Marble

Once cleaned up, the detail really pops — perfect candidate for painting or display as-is.

Not impossible, but definitely one that rewards careful hands.
