Dropby: The Modular Catch-all Tray with Worby Design

ATTENTION: The structure and inserts of DROPBY have been completely redesigned to be smaller and more compact, allowing them to be placed on desks, shelves, or tables, using a size necessary to make everything clean and elegant. Therefore, DROPBY inserts cannot be mounted on WORBY and vice versa!

Everything stems from a great inspiration. The original wall-mounted WORBY project by Scott Yu-Jan captivated everyone with its clean, geometric, and ingenious design. However, it's not always possible or desired to hang objects on the wall.

This is why Dropby was born: I redesigned the concept from scratch, keeping the iconic Mondrian-style design intact, but transforming it into a practical and stylish tabletop catch-all tray. Perfect for the entryway, desk, or nightstand.

Customize it for you

The true strength of Dropby is its completely modular nature. The main frame works like a grid where you can unleash your creativity:

• Choose the position: Trays, hooks, shelves, and ledges - you can interlock the various inserts wherever suits you best.

• Play with colors: Do you want to replicate the iconic De Stijl style with primary colors (Red, Blue, Yellow)? Or do you prefer an elegant total black look, or perhaps a mix of pastel colors? Print each module in the color you prefer to match your decor.

Ready-to-use print profile

To make your work easier, the attached print profile is already complete and configured to precisely recreate the composition and colors you see in the cover photo. You just need to send it to print to have your Dropby ready for use. Of course, you can freely modify the filament colors directly from your slicer before starting the print. 

Tips: Use a tiny dot of glue for permanent adhesion. Just one dot in only one of the 4 slots per insert is truly enough

Dropby is designed to be a constantly evolving ecosystem. I published the design open for remixes precisely to encourage the community to expand it.
