Cheap Yellow Display CYD 3.5 inch Swivel Mount

This is a case and swivel mount for the ESP32-3248S035C 3.5" CYD (Cheap Yellow Display), designed to be mounted:

• On a flat surface
• Under a desk
• On top of a desk

💡 Concept

This was designed as a companion for the “Wayne Dryer Box”, which includes a dedicated recess for this display.

For flat surface mounting, two plates are provided:

• One designed for glue (ideal for the Wayne Dryer Box)
• One designed for double-sided tape

That said, it is a fully standalone solution, and you can mount it wherever it suits your setup.

The mount includes a swivel mechanism, allowing you to adjust the screen angle at any time for the best viewing position.

It also includes cutouts for:

• The LED
• Access to the micro USB charging port

🛠️ Assembly Instructions

1. Insert the support cylinder into the swivelling mount, ensuring the alignment cuts and holes match.
2. From inside the case, insert:
   • M3.5×20 wood screws (link) or
   • BT3×16 screws
     ⚠️ Flat head screws are important to ensure proper fit and alignment
3. Lightly screw them in so they slightly protrude on the other side.
   This helps align the case with the support cylinder.
4. Once aligned, tighten the screws fully.
   • The tighter you go, the stiffer the swivel will be
   • Adjust to your preference
5. Install 4 × heat-set inserts (M3 ID × 5 OD × 4–5 mm length) into the base of the case where the display will sit - link
6. Place the screen in the correct orientation and secure it using:
   • 4 × M3×6 flat head screws - link
7. Finally, press-fit the lid into place.

⚠️ Important Note

From experience, when working with displays/screens, always:

• Measure the clearance between screw heads and the back of the screen
• Consider how much tightening force you will apply (front and back)

If you damage your screen, that is your responsibility.
I cannot guarantee that the screws you choose will work in every case.

Measure carefully — and measure again.

🧩 Optional

You can also print the under-desk or desk mounts and follow the same assembly process to expand your setup options.

The on-desk mount comes in two parts, which are joined using a dovetail system.
You can use glue at your discretion to secure the joint.

🖨️ Printing Notes

• PLA is sufficient
• Supports are required to ensure good print quality
• It is recommended to use the provided printing profile as-is

⚠️ Avoid modifying settings unless you are confident in what you are doing.
