Self-Closing Robot Mower Gate (Not Self-Locking)

NOTE: Built using shared HSW Honeycomb standards and sizes
 

Designed for reliable pass-through and automatic return, this gate was built and tested with a 2026 Luba Mini 2 AWD 1500 (360° LiDAR). The width is intentional to account for navigation drift when using a dedicated channel.

Assembly Notes

  • Bond all door panel edges together with CA (super glue).

     

  • Use the 2 alignment connectors to hold the correct gap during mounting.

    • — Do not glue these in place, remove after installation.

     

  • Glue all permanent honeycomb connectors into the panels.

     

  • Numerous threaded insert holes are included to allow post-assembly adjustment and tuning.

 

 

Hardware

  • Springs: Hillman #543183 (Lowe’s)
     
  • Threaded inserts: M3, 5.5 mm OD × 3.8 mm depth (AMAZON)

 

Installation Tips

  • Install threaded inserts in all spring mounting locations before assembly.

    This gives flexibility to reposition springs later without disassembling the gate.

 

 

Notes

  • Gate is self-closing, not self-locking.
  • Designed to balance easy push-through with consistent return to center.
