Description
This model is a 3D‑printed reinterpretation of the classic Kadee #508 HO Scale Coupler Conversion Bolster, designed for AHM/Rivarossi as well as other 4‑wheel passenger trucks. It provides a reliable, print‑friendly alternative for hobbyists who want to upgrade older passenger cars with truck‑mounted couplers while maintaining smooth operation on tight curves.
There are two different versions available. The first is mainly used for glueing directly to the trucks. The other has a screw slot built in for mouting with screws.
I have included a coupler box in the print profiles. But original coupler boxes with work as well.
Purpose & Compatibility
The original #508 bolster is used to mount Kadee style knuckle couplers directly to 4‑wheel passenger trucks, enabling closer coupling and improved tracking on curves down to 18 inches in radius. This printed version preserves the geometry and function needed for those conversions while giving modelers a durable, customizable part for restoration or kitbashing projects.
