Description

A smart and sturdy wall-mounted storage solution for your 3D printing filaments.

This design utilizes the widely available IKEA RÄCKA curtain rod system to create a high-capacity rack that is both cost-effective and easy to install.

Key Features:

  • IKEA Integration: Specifically designed for the RÄCKA curtain rod (120-210 cm set - article number 302.171.59). The set contains two rods with slightly different diameters.
  • Smart Design: The brackets feature "snap-in" slots. The larger diameter rod fits into the rear slot, while the smaller one fits into the front.
  • High Capacity: With a usable length of approximately 110 cm, you can store 15–16 filament spools on a single shelf!
  • Scalability: Need a longer rack? Just use more brackets as supports and a longer IKEA rod set.
  • Easy Installation: While each bracket features multiple mounting holes for maximum security, it has been tested to hold a full load using just one sturdy screw and wall plug per bracket (two screws total for the whole 110 cm rack).

🖨️ Printing & Assembly Tips:

  • Material: I recommend PETG (tested) for better structural integrity and long-term creep resistance under heavy load you can try also ASA or ABS).
  • Infill: Use at least 25-30% infill with a "Gyroid" or "Grid" pattern and 7-8 wall loops for maximum strength.
  • Supports: The brackets are designed for easy printing. No need for the supports.
  • Assembly: Simply mount the brackets to the wall, slide the IKEA rods into the snap-fit slots, and you are ready to organize!
