Boost Me (for free)

If you like this model, please consider giving me a boost. Thanks :)

Pliers holder for small pliers/wire cutters. The model is approx. 9 cm tall (3.5 inch).
Simply press fit together, or depending on tolerances, glue them together with superglue (CA, cyanoacrylate)

Happy printing :)

This is a super fun model to hold my pliers/cutters for jewelry making, Printed well, looked good, however when I went to put it together, the two lower bars fit on the ends, the top one did not, like at all. The holes in the ends were not big enough, I tried to use some force and the bar cracked. I stopped before it cracked too much, ended up just gluing in on top. Its just for me, to hold my stuff so no biggy, just wanted to let you know. I did not change the dimensions at all, downloaded and printed. Thank you.

Hi, thanks for letting me know :) It fit perfectly for me so it's weird the tolerances are that much different. Is it possible that the sides of the top bar might have warped? Because that happened to me and it wouldn't fit. That's why I added the mouse ear brims. If this is the case I would try to print it again and maybe use a full brim for the entire top bar and maybe even make the "brim-object gap" smaller. Waiting to hear back from you :) Would appreciate a picture if you can. Also, if you want I can upload a new model of the top bar with even bigger tolerances. But I do suspect it might have warped a little which make the hole too small

Hi, it is totally possible that it might have warped, I watched it start printing but I left once it was all good, maybe it wasn't all good. I am not worried, I don't have the time to print it again, and I already have a "perfect plier holder, it is just glued, lol. it does it's job. Maybe if I get some free time I will try to make the changes you suggested. If you say its good, its good. Thanks for your reply.

Hi again. FIY, another used found the issue and I have fixed the model if you want to reprint the faulty part :)

Yeah, heads up, I printed this out, the bottom two supports were fine, the top support, one side fit perfect, the other side didn't. I tried to tap in with a mallet and broke the far side of the top support. I printed my support bars in petg for flexibility, and petghf for the sides. Perfect prints, but yeah, there was a problem with assembly. You've got a dimension off by just a tad on one of the plugs, or one of the support bars. If you want me to help troubleshoot further, I can.

I've discovered the issue. The top bar holes are two different sizes, with one of the ends being too small. I have uploaded a modified version as a print profile. Thank you for the design!

Wonderful. Thanks for your help :) I originally thought warping was the problem but you are correct. One of the sides of the top bar was the wrong size from a previous revision. I have fixed the model, replaced the print profile file and done a test print. Again, thanks and sorry for the inconvenience :)

You know what, I remade the entire design. In my testing there was a lot of variation between different filaments etc, and the tab would break easily, so I redesigned it to print from the big flat bottom to reduce potential for warping, as well as making more room for a square tab like the other two rods. I'm telling you this just so you don't print the new top rod only to find it doesnt fit with the rest of the model anymore, hehe :)
