Cooperation Box - Two Hands Required

This is a box that does not lock, but requires 4 hands to open. The concept is that any two people can open it, but no one can open it alone. 

I designed this to be easily printed and assembled. Just print out two top pieces and two bottom pieces. Snap the top pieces into the bottom pieces, and then you can mate the two sets together. Once mated, the only way to open the box again is to press all 8 buttons at the same time. 

NOTE: I discovered upon printing it that the box is easily defeated by nimble fingers, so I included an “XL” version as well to make reaching all the buttons with just two hands more difficult. 

The part is printed with just 4 small supports on each of the top parts. 

I printed it out of PLA, but you could easily use PETG or other materials. The spring element is pretty stiff with PLA, but I made it as thin as possible to still make it work.
