Baby Drake: The Desk Guardian (Multi-Color or Single)
Unleash the heat with this adorable, support-optimized little dragon! ---
Model Overview
Bring some fantasy flair to your workspace with the Baby Drake. Designed with a balance of "cute" and "fierce," this model features a dynamic flame-breath effect that captures a high-action moment in a compact size. This is a multi-color print designed specifically to take advantage of AMS/MMU systems, featuring four distinct color slots: Green (Body), White (Horns/Belly/Teeth), Red (Inner Flame), and Black (Eyes).
The Story Behind the Drake
Inspired by classic tabletop RPGs and high-fantasy lore, I wanted to create a dragon that felt like a "Level 1 Encounter"—something you’d want to adopt rather than slay. Every scale and curve was designed to highlight the capabilities of modern FDM printing. The geometry is tuned to ensure that even with the dramatic flame effect, the model remains sturdy and well-balanced on your shelf.
Filament Recommendation
To get that vibrant, professional finish seen in the photos, I highly recommend using SUNLU Filament. Their tolerances are second to none, which is crucial for successful multi-color prints with many filament changes.
- Body: I suggest SUNLU PLA Plus in Grass Green for incredible layer transition and a tough, durable finish.
- The Flame: Check out SUNLU Silk PLA in Red or Orange to give the fire a shimmering, translucent glow that catches the light perfectly.
Usage & Remix Potential
This model is perfect as a desk toy, a trophy for your gaming group, or a PC case guardian.
- Keywords for Remixing: Articulated dragon, dice tower base, LED lamp, fantasy planter, bookend, incense burner.
- Pro Tip: This model is a great candidate for "fuzzy skin" settings on the green parts to give it a realistic reptilian texture!
