A satisfying, tactile, and visually stunning threaded fidget toy.

The G3D Vortex Fidget is designed for endless, satisfying spinning. Featuring a steep helix thread and a perfectly toleranced spinner ring, gravity does the work as the ring zips smoothly from top to bottom. Flip it over and watch it go again! The end caps are designed with raised textured bumps, providing a great tactile feel for your thumbs when holding it or spinning it manually.

It’s the perfect desk toy, stress reliever, and showcase piece for your favourite eye-catching filaments.

  • Smooth Helix Action: Steep thread angle allows the centre ring to travel quickly and smoothly with just gravity.
  • Tactile Grip: The top and bottom caps feature a studded texture for extra sensory feedback.
  • Print-in-Place Base: One end cap is seamlessly integrated into the main body for a stronger print and easier assembly.
  • Perfect for Multi-Color: The twisted centre column looks incredible when printed in dual-color, tri-color, or silk extrusion PLA, creating a mesmerizing optical illusion as it spins.

🖨️ Recommended Print Settings

To get the smoothest spin, dimensional accuracy is important.

  • Layer Height: 0.16mm or 0.2mm (lower layer heights will result in smoother threads).
  • Infill: 15% Gyroid.
  • Wall Loops: 3 walls for durability on the threads.
  • Supports: None required!
  • Brim: Recommended for the tall main body to ensure good bed adhesion.
  • Material: PLA, PETG, or ABS. (Silk PLA highly recommended for the visual effect).

🛠️ Assembly Instructions

  1. Print all three parts: the Main Body (which includes the bottom cap), the Spinner Ring, and the Threaded Top Cap.
  2. Thread the Spinner Ring onto the Main Body. Run it up and down a few times to break in the threads and clear any minor stringing.
  3. Screw the Threaded Top Cap onto the top of the main body to lock the ring in place. It threads on easily and requires absolutely no glue!
