Description

Hello, this is SVEINS ZIP 1.

Version 1.5 is now available, with improved bag support and a stronger zipper structure.

Fixed the design flaw where the front and rear zipper stoppers could easily detach, and added an interlocking connection between the solid connectors and the zipper teeth.

A flexible 3D printed zipper bag designed for Bambu X2D, with the zipper integrated and printed as part of the main body.

TPU 90A × PLA hybrid printing

Flexible structural body

Fully functional zipper

95/120 cm printable flexible shoulder strap

Three built-in compartments

This is the first practical exploration within the SVEINS series.

A stable structure, practical functionality, and a clean visual appearance are the ultimate design goals of the ZIP series.

Before printing: Important notes and upcoming updates can be found at the end. The detailed assembly instruction PDF has already been updated. For the zipper assembly section, please follow the video guide provided at the end to complete the process.

ZIP 1 uses a hybrid printing structure of TPU 90A and PLA, achieving a balance between flexibility and structural stability.

The flexible TPU provides bendability and a soft tactile feel for the bag body, while PLA supplies the necessary structural support for printing, rigid components, and the zipper section.

This combination allows ZIP 1 to maintain a soft, usable experience while remaining stable and functional in practical use.

Note: This image was taken after the ZIP 1 bag body was fully printed. The sections on both sides were extended using image expansion.

Using PLA as a support structure for TPU on the X2D can significantly improve the surface quality of TPU prints.

At the same time, features such as “wall embedding into infill” or “interlocking beams” can be used to print PLA functional structures in a single process alongside the TPU body.

SVEINS ZIP 1 is equipped with a fully functional zipper structure, allowing the 3D-printed bag to exist not only as an experimental piece, but also as a practical object for everyday use.

The two flexible shoulder straps of ZIP 1 can also be directly 3D printed and are naturally integrated into the main body structure.

Inside the bag, ZIP 1 also features three built-in compartments, providing clearly organized storage space for everyday essentials.

Secondly, ZIP 1 will soon be updated with a newly designed retractable textured shoulder strap.

In the current file, ZIP 1 is equipped with a fixed-length smooth strap. You can also use the buckle on one side of the bag to assist in minor length adjustments of the strap.

Important Notice:

If your slicer software suggests setting the distance between the support surface and the model to 0, please click “Cancel.” Setting the support-to-model distance to 0 may very likely damage the model during printing!

Please do not change the vertical layer order of the parts within the print object, otherwise the print may fail!

  1. Carefully remove supports after printing. When removing supports from the bag body, you may wet them with warm water (up to 50°C) to make the process easier.
  2. Do not forcefully bend any part of the bag body, as this may deform the TPU.
  3. Do not apply excessive force when installing the zipper,The detailed assembly instruction PDF has been updated. For the zipper assembly section, please follow the video guide for proper installation.

  4. Do not use excessive force when operating the zipper.
  5. Do not pull the zipper all the way to the bottom end (as marked by the red arrow in the image). If it is fully pulled apart, the two zipper tracks may separate. In this case, you can reattach it in the same way as reconnecting a regular garment zipper.
  6. ZIP 1 and all of its components are released under the STANDARD DIGITAL FILE LICENSE.

Update Plan

2.Improved support and easier removal — updated

Previous version
Version 1.4

3.Stronger zipper — updated
