Project Overview: Pulse Breeze – Smart HR-Controlled Fan Regulator
Upgrade your indoor cycling or training setup! Pulse Breeze automatically adjusts your fan's speed based on your Heart Rate (HR). It connects to your HR monitor via Bluetooth and increases cooling power as your intensity goes up, allowing you to focus entirely on your workout.
Key Features:
- Universal HR Compatibility: Tested with Garmin watches/straps, Decathlon belts, and generic Bluetooth monitors.
- Note: While it follows standard BLE protocols, I cannot guarantee compatibility with every single Bluetooth device on the market.
- Bluetooth Proxy Mode: Clones your HR signal, making it available for apps like Zwift, TrainerRoad, or Rouvy simultaneously.
- Fully Adjustable: Set custom HR ranges, as well as minimum and maximum fan power.
- Smart Logic: Features trend prediction (anticipates intensity changes), auto-shutdown, and connection smoothing.
- Global Compatibility: Works on both 230V/50Hz (EU) and 110V/60Hz (US).

Advanced Fan Control Modes:
The device offers three distinct operating modes:
- Burst | 2. Phase Control | 3. Async PWM (4Hz)
- Important: The default mode is optimized for most AC fans. If you are not an advanced user, do not change these settings unless your fan fails to work correctly. Note that not all fans are suitable for electronic speed regulation.
Build & Durability:
- Mechanical Assembly: The enclosure is secured using M2 screws. You can use any length from 8mm to 30mm.
- Cable Protection: Includes a dedicated TPU strain relief grommet for the 230V cable to prevent fraying or accidental pull-out.
- Sweat Resistance: The device is NOT waterproof. If placed near your training area, I recommend:
- Printing a USB-C plug to protect the port.
- Using hot glue to seal the gap between the screen and the housing during assembly.
Print Profiles & Materials:
- Multi-Color Profile: Features decorative text (fancy look for AMS users).
- Single-Color Profile: Decorative text removed for a clean look on single-color prints.
- Materials: I strongly recommend PC-FR (Flame Retardant Polycarbonate) for maximum safety. ABS is also acceptable and was used in earlier prototypes, but PC-FR is the superior choice for mains-voltage projects.
